Other horizons

It's when you walk, out of season, along the beach from Agde to Sète or around the Carnon area, that you really get the measure of the quality of a protected coastline.

Around Aresquiers, you'll find the beautiful pine grove that runs alongside the beach, a classified site, as well as many other protected areas such as the Cathedral of Maguelone on its island. Some of the older seaside resorts in the Hérault, such as Palavas, Carnon, Mèze, Sète, Marseillan and Valras, which have grown up around an old village or fishing hamlet, have happily retained the charm of the holidays of yesteryear. Some of the beautiful features of the coast, like La Grande Motte or the Cap d'Agde, offer you the chance to enjoy a wide range of leisure facilities, activities and entertainment.

Turning back inland, all these resorts offer direct access to the countryside, with its lagoons, channels running down to the sea and wine-growing areas: one of the characteristics of the Hérault coast. In a few minutes, you can go from lying lazily on the beach to an adventure in the countryside: walking, cycling, fishing, photographing wildlife in the lagoons, horseriding and more…
