The Clamouse cave

The Clamouse caveThe Clamouse cave had kept its secrets for thousands of years when, because of an exceptional period of drought in the summer of 1945, it was forced to reveal them.

The cave is millions of years old and a wonder of the underground world. Even now, the slow effects of its waters continue to enhance its ancient charms. It owes its fame to the beauty, diversity, abundance and rarity of its concretions. In 2005 it was designated as a “Site of Beauty and Scientific Interest” and it is in the process of being designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are guided visits all year round.
