Competition for prize-winning wines in the Hérault Valley
The Competition for prize-winning wines in the region, organised each year by the Hérault Valley Communauté de communes, a joint body representing the various different towns and villages in the area, was awarded national accreditation in 1991 and European accreditation in 1996.
The aim of the competition is to promote and raise awareness of some of the best products in the Hérault Valley by awarding medals.
Samples are tasted in strict anonymity under the control of an officer of the courts. Winning a prize in the competition is not simply about professional recognition, but is also an important way for wine producers to gain a broader reputation by using their medal to promote their products commercially.
The competition is one of the year's key events for wine producers in the Hérault Valley and its gold medal winner, a guarantee of quality, is eagerly awaited by consumers.
